Maine Music Educators Association

Website: www.mainemmea.org

The Maine Music Educators Association (MMEA), its national affiliate, National Association for Music Education (NAfME), and the Eastern Divisional Conference are committed to work for the professional development and welfare of music educators, the improvement of instructional opportunities and the advancement of music education for all. MMEA works to develop and adopt practices, policies, and standards that mark this profession. MMEA works toward unification and strengthening the music-teaching profession through our conferences and support of professional development opportunities at both the professional and collegiate level. MMEA provides enhanced music performance opportunities for students by hosting and supporting numerous music festivals for students at the District and State level throughout the year and culminating in our capstone events referred to as "All-State." It is through these means that we intend to secure and maintain the existence of school music programs in the State of Maine. Our goal is to enable members to speak with a common voice before the Maine State Board of Education, their designees, and other legal authorities on matters pertaining to the music education and its importance for equal access to all for a comprehensive music education for all which is provided by qualified music educators.

Festival Events: All State Band, All State Chorus, All State Orchestra, All State Jazz and District level K-12 events. Please see our events calendar at mainemmea.org
