What is Maine Education Association?
Maine Education Association (MEA) is the largest unified professional organization in the state representing over 24,000 public school educators. From Kindergarten through college MEA members work to make a difference for students. MEA members truly lead the way to great public schools for every Maine student. As an affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA), MEA connects its members with over 3 million fellow educators around the United States with professional development, classroom resources, legal representation, and the ability to have a say in federal and state education policies.
As an educator you have the opportunity to join the Association--membership is open to professionals at all experience levels, from students studying to become teachers, to K-12 Teachers, to Education Support Professional (ESP), Higher Education and Retirees. There is no wait time to join, and your membership is continuous, giving you access to the full resources of the Association.
