MEA Members Step Up To Help Hall School

MEA members continue to work to help their fellow educators at Portland’s Hall School who are still picking up the pieces after a fire destroyed not only part of the building but many of the supplies needed to teach the children.

At the Fall Conference, this past weekend, our members really proved we are all here to help each other.  Dozens of members donated supplies, things like books, crayons and notebooks to the school so that teachers can focus on their work in the classroom and not worry about how to replace what the fire ruined.

MEA President, Lois Kilby-Chesley brought several boxes and totes from the Fall Conference to the school Wednesday morning.  “I am so pleased to be part of an organization where our members are truly out to help each other.  This is what being part of the MEA is all about, working together to help each other in a number of different situations in order to create positive learning environments for us all.”

If you have items you would like to donate please call the Hall School at 874-8205.
