MEA Helps Hall School Teachers After Fire
This week, Maine Education Association President, Lois Kilby-Chesley presented teachers at the Fred P. Hall School in Portland with 40 gift cards to Staples to help them pay for supplies lost in a fire at the beginning of the school year.
“As educators we need to support each other. The teachers at the Hall School need to be able to focus on teaching and not worrying about how they will pay to replace the items lost in the fire, “said Kilby-Chesley.
The Maine Education Association believes that every child has the right to receive a great education at a great public school. The $25 gift cards, paid for by the Maine Education Association, are to help teachers buy anything they may need for their classroom to create a healthy and positive learning environment for their students.
