The MAEA is devoted
to furthering the growth of visual arts education in the state. Goals
include the professional development of all members, the promotion of
art education at all levels, and the encouragement of innovation and
research in art education. MAEA provides a forum for the exchange of
ideas and for collaboration with other art teachers in the state by
sponsoring one or two statewide conferences, organizing member art
exhibits, publishing 3 newsletters, and distributing information via the
internet and website. MAEA collaborates with other Arts agencies
throughout the state to ensure quality programs for our students. |

The Maine Association of Family and
Consumer Sciences is a professional organization whose goal is to bring
people together to improve the lives of individuals, families and
community through education, research, cooperative programs and public
information. Maine AFCS educator
(K-12 and Extension) comprise 70% of our members, which include active
and retired professionals in the family and consumer sciences field. For

The organization holds one annual conference for professional
development and one mini-conference/business meeting each year. The
group publishes two newsletters yearly and sends monthly e-mail reports
to members.

MASL supports the integration of learning experiences throughout the
curriculum and the integration of new technologies into the learning
environment. MASL believes that the Library Media Specialist and the
support staff personnel are totally involved in the teaching/learning
process, working with students and teachers, using every means possible to
help make learning a meaningful and rich experience. MASL collects,
evaluates, and disseminates information pertaining to the development of
